What we do
Sosromenduran Tax Tools publishes free calculators and guides that help people in the United States understand and estimate their federal taxes: income tax, tax brackets, paychecks, self-employment tax, capital gains, the standard deduction, the child tax credit and mileage.
Tax rules are written in dense legal language. Our goal is to turn the official numbers into tools that answer everyday questions in seconds — and to show our work, so you can check every figure yourself.
Where our numbers come from
Every rate, threshold and dollar amount on this site is taken directly from official U.S. government publications — mainly IRS revenue procedures, IRS notices and announcements, IRS forms and instructions, and the Social Security Administration. Each calculator lists the documents it relies on, and our Sources page collects them in one place.
We do not publish estimates or projections as if they were official. When the IRS has not yet released figures for a year — as is currently the case for the 2027 tax brackets — we say so clearly and keep using the latest official numbers until the new ones are published.
How we keep it accurate
- The calculation code is tested against the worked tax amounts printed in the IRS revenue procedure tables.
- We review the site whenever the IRS or SSA publishes new annual figures, and whenever a new tax law changes the rules.
- Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.
- Reader corrections are welcome. If you spot an error, email us and we will review it within three business days.
Your privacy
Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The income and other figures you type are not sent to us and are not stored. Read our Privacy Policy for details about cookies and advertising.

Sosromenduran Tax Tools is an independent website operated from Indonesia by the team behind sosromenduran.net. We are not a tax preparation firm, we do not prepare or file tax returns, and we do not offer individual tax, legal or financial advice. The site is supported by advertising.
